🎄The Holiday Retail Season Do Nots!
First and foremost, I hope you all had a calm and peaceful Thanksgiving. I realized today, while working, I forgot to post my gentle pointed reminder about how not to treat people during the retail season! Karen, I see you in the back and sit your tush down now! These are things I have learned in my twenty-plus years of customer service. I have recently witnessed people forgetting some things! So, like before, it will be a numbered list; however, these reminders are not in any particular order.
#1. Retail people are human and use your manners. Yes, it is our job to help you, but how about a bit of common courtesy?
#3. If a store posts a doorbuster, do not go to the store at dinner time and expect it to be there. Most advertisements say limited quantities or while supplies last.
#4. Your retailer is not your personal bank. Do not go into a store with a crisp hundred-dollar bill for a $3.00 purchase.
#5. Do not complain about the wait. Please, for the love of all that is holy. Do not complain about a line. You and all the customers in that line decided to go to the store and shop. There is nothing that the cashiers can do about the line. Do not be the person who calls the store while waiting in line, then asks for more cashiers. Yes, this has happened, and that is a story for another time. All you are doing is delaying the line to answer your call.
#6. No, there is nothing in the stock room. Do not ask. If it is a big-ticket item or a popular sale item, it is already on the floor. All we will do is go into the stock room, sit down for a moment, or grab a drink, and come back out and tell you we do not have it.
#7. If you know your store's truck schedule, do not ask us to check for an item. DO NOT DO IT. Seriously, people, half the time we don't know what is there until we process the merchandise, and it goes right to the floor. We are not climbing pallets to please you. Do not be that person. Most stores push everything to the floor as soon as possible, and seriously, do you need it that badly that you cannot wait?
#8. DO NOT SNAP YOUR FINGERS at a member of staff. We are not animals and deserve respect.
#9. Do not yell for the staff from across the store. Side note: If you see a member of staff with someone, do not interrupt them. It is rude, as it delays us from helping the person before you. We will tell you that I will be with you in a few moments. I am with someone.
#10. If an employee has food or a drink in their hand, they are more than likely on break or having lunch. Leave them alone, they need this break.
#11. Do not enter areas that are for employees only. Do not enter. The sign is there for a reason.
#12. Stay off your phone at checkout. We do not need to know about your plans. However, if we hear some good gossip, we may repeat it.
#13. Most stores have loyalty programs. It is our job to ask you to join and sign you up. Some stores offer credit cards; if they do, it is our job to provide the credit card application. Please don't yell at an employee for having to mention it to you.
#14. If you think you're tired of shopping, remember that we are exhausted too. Have Some Common Courtesy.
#15. Avoid going to a store a minute before they close and expect to shop. We are closed. As a side note, also do not knock on the doors to be let in early.
#16. Do not ask for coupons or discounts. Do not tell us you have a coupon and left it at home. We cannot do anything about it.
Remember, it is the holidays. Spread a little cheer and be blessed that you can shop. Many people do not have this luxury this year.

It's Almost Thanksgiving!
Wow, we are almost to Thanksgiving! With that, it means I will be slow on updates and posts until after the new year, as I work retail. When I started working retail again, I knew this was coming and began preparing for my house. As a retail worker, you can get behind on everything in your life. It happens. I implore you to learn from my experience and find a balance. So on Thanksgiving this year, enjoy your time with your family and have a happy one!

Learning Lessons
Things in life have been crazy. But as life gets crazy I have learned many valuable lessons. I would love to share what has been going on, however the story is not only mine to share and for the sake of my loved ones I will share the lessons I learned.
- Even if the worst things in life happen to you need to look at the positive and learn to lean on your faith. This is something I was struggling with prior to what happened and believe me I wanted to shout and yell at god or goddess. I asked the question why so many times.
- Keep yourself busy. I know this sounds odd, but during the forty days that wrapped me in a web of uncertainty I did do everything I could to keep my mind busy.
- Remember you havea support team. Having the support team was a saving grace for me. I am truly thankful to the people who stood by me through this.
- Know your weaknesses. If something trigger's you during the crazy times, try to avoid whatever it is. I know its easier said than done.
- Get out of the house. Again I know for some it is not as easy to get out of the house. Some days when I was off from work I had to force myself out of the house and sit outside. I did though and it made a huge difference.

Change is scary, and I am scared because I like keeping the calm and peace. So let's see how things change and what new and exciting future I have coming!

A Month Down
It has been a long road for me and many others I know. Many of us have been searching for work, and I have submitted numerous job applications so far, with no success. I am working with unemployment and workers programs to get a job. It has been so frustrating. I can say all the bad things about my former employer; however, I am not. That is not worth my time or energy. The large number of people they let go and have tried calling for new contract positions at a ridiculously low pay rate says enough about how they value people who worked for them. I digress.
I have been doing everything I could to earn some extra money. It has been hard to make the bills, but I am not giving up. My partner and I are doing our best. Things will get better, and I have faith! Since I was married to my ex-husband, I have always been resourceful. So I will be positive! If you can help, my PayPal link is HERE! I usually do not ask, but I need it now. If you cannot help monetarily, read a few posts and click on a few ads.
Well, I am off to work on something myself! Best wishes and happy reading.

Anger and Frustration
I am frustrated. Why? A month ago, I lost my job. I busted my ass for this company and did everything I was supposed to do going over and beyond my assigned duties. Then the company overpromised and underdelivered; if you weren't best friends with the operations manager, you were let go. I have been applying for jobs and unemployment for a month now and have yet to find anything. Not working has turned my life upside down. I have yet to find anything, and it has strained my relationships. It has put me in a depression that I am struggling with. People keep telling me Oh, find a new job. Finding a job is not easy when everything is spaced out, and I have no car. Also, we are going into the summer, and I get extreme heat sickness. So if I have to walk to or from work, I will be sick as can be. God is trying to teach me a lesson, but what lesson? Losing this job ruined my life, and I lost out on so much because of it. I hope they have instant karma.

A Small Favor
I would like to ask a small favor of anyone who reads my articles or books. Frankly, I am still looking for a job! I am not asking for handouts or donations. Help a girl out by clicking on the ads, articles, and stories on the blog. This would help me greatly. Also, if you are reading the stories on the book link. Let me know what you think! Thank you all for your reading and clicks.
