Fighting the Patriarchy

First, this little blurb is not going into women's rights or our role in the Patriarchy. Over the weekend, I was watching a historical piece that had me thinking I would be screwed. I believe in equal partnership in a relationship. If I do dishes, you'd better believe you're picking up a sponge and washing them.

Let's look at the definition of the Patriarchy. The definition is as follows:

Patriarchy is the hypothetical social system in which the father or a male elder has absolute authority over the family group.

What the actual hell? Now, I am not saying I would be burned at the stake back in the day. In all fairness, I would have been because I am a free-thinking woman who would never yield to someone's claim to me. After all, I can produce children. I am glad I live in an age where I will not have to worry about that. But the thought of the Patriarchy does make my skin crawl. So this post was a quick shout-out to you, boss babes, who rise to live a happy life and do what you think is best. After watching that show this weekend, I discovered that I could be hanged from a tree, burned at the stake, put into a mental asylum, or divorced. Along with the divorce, I would have nothing.

Food for thought? I guess. Would I change my ways to be a perfect housewife? Could I live a life where I could not write and be myself? Could I give up my free will? Nope.

Hobbies

Hobbies are essential to having a great mental well-being. Am I an expert? Nope! But I can tell you from first-hand experience that I am miserable if I do not work on my hobbies for at least thirty minutes daily. So, no matter what your hobby is, work on it! At least once a day, I will work on my hobbies, and since I love writing, crafting, and baking, there is always something I can do daily! What kind of hobbies do you have? Sound off in the comments below!

My Cat is Driving me Crazy!

So, this guy pictured above is driving me crazy! Not that that is too far of a drive, but in the last week, Rambo has been sneaking out every opportunity he can. My other half and I spent the last half hour getting him out from under a trailer two lots down. So now we have to cage him before we go outside, and I even had to place a sign on the front door that says, "Did you put Rambo in the cage before you opened the door?"

Before you ask, Rambo is healthy and only nine years old. Our first thought was he might be sick and sneaking off. However, when I finally rangled him tonight, Rambo was hanging out with a stray cat who is currently pregnant. No, he cannot be the father. However, she is the mother of our cats Feral, Princess, and Slowmo. She pushed him back towards me, and he came right to me when I called him. All my fur babies are spoiled rotten, so I do not know why he is doing this. It's enough to drive me CRAZY.

For those who ask, is he alright? Of course, and currently is in lock-up until the house is locked up for the night!

A Typical Tuesday

Like the picture above, which shows some of the aftermath of Hurricane Milton,  life has been like a hurricane lately. Today, besides working an eight-hour day, I am elbows deep doing a spring cleaning. This spring cleaning includes deep cleaning and purging the house. Am I the only one who does this? My deep cleaning will also include sorting through our hurricane supplies because hurricane season will be upon us again before we know it. Remember, if you stock supplies for hurricane season or emergencies, now is the time to start looking through and checking to make sure everything is still sealed and usable. After I post this, it will be a shower and bedtime. So, everyone who is getting caught up in life, you are not alone, and see you all soon.

Alive and Kicking!

Life happens, right? Life said, hold my beer and see what you can do. Two hurricanes, a family emergency that lasted months, and multiple medical emergencies, then add in I started a new job, and you have my life. However, I would not have changed it for the world as it taught me many valuable lessons.

Just a little bit longer, and the content will increase. Also, for anyone who has read the stories, quite a few books are in the first edit phase. More books will be ready to be published soon. By mid-June, I will be posting some adventures I hope and look forward to in the future.

I hope you all are doing well, and remember to comment on the stories if you wish. See you soon!
