TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF MOMS!
Hey ladies Angie here and today's lesson is a very simple one:
Mom's you need to take care of yourselves and listen to the signs your body is giving you! I know as Mom's we feel and have the need to want to put everyone else first. I know the feeling I try putting my kids, husband, and house first! Guess where that got me ... Back in the ER yesterday with a lovely five hour plus stay because they were slammed. What did I find out? My HERNIA is forming again and I had a massive infection. Great huh? NO!
So why am I posting this? I can't even go all super girl until Monday if I wanted to go to the gym and if I did go before hand I was told I can go on the bike, treadmill or light arm free weights! Nothing else and I have to be more careful with the abdominal workout. Do you hear me wanting to cry right now? I am so sad about this because I really am trying to lose weight! I want to go! The gym is a relaxing spot for me and at the end, I get my reward in the way of those amazing massage chairs! Sounds like our toddlers when we say no right?
I asked the doctor how I can prevent this from happening again. His reply was slow down and listen to my body. He had asked what my days were like lately and I told him with my main job, freelancing, trying to get my business reopened and my writing I have been super busy! To which his reply was 'Maybe you need to slow down just a bit then so this doesn't get so bad again'. He laughed when he saw the look on my face and he said something that made me stop and think,
"Even though you want to be a superhero your body is your own worst enemy when you over do it, you need to set limits and take care of yourself!"
He is right I have a very hard time setting my limits and now I have been working to achieve my goals safely. I mean my house looks like a bomb hit it but here I am sitting in bed blogging with you all. You know what my kids don't care. If something bothers them they pick it up and put it away. My daughter even went and flipped the blanket in the dryer so it can get dried so I can move it to where it needs to be. My older teens are either at work or doing school projects out of the house. My husband is out at the class he is volunteering in so he can hopefully become a teacher there eventually. So even though I am a super mom I am using my cape as a blankie for a while and slowing down, I mean how are the kids and I supposed to have adventures if I can't do anything!
So my fellow superMoms and Dads take care of yourselves because our mini sidekicks need us in tip top shape!
Much Hugs and Love,
